Parallel Universe Announces Childe Rolande Reprint

Parallel Universe, publishers of the Swords & Sorceries anthology series, announced Friday they’d be reprinting Childe Rolande by Samantha Lee. Described as “a post apocalyptic swords and sorcery novel set in a future dystopian Scotland,” Childe Rolande was originally published in 1989 but has been out of print since then.

No release date is given, but Childe Rolande will be available in ebook, paperback, and a limited hardcover edition, all with new cover art by Jim Pitts. (The original 1989 cover is pictured here.) PUP also notes the novel was recently optioned for a possible TV mini series…

(As an aside, if the book’s title sounds familiar, it’s a reference to the poem “Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came” by Robert Browning, which also inspired Stephen King’s Dark Tower series.)

Titan Books Announces Conan the Barbarian 40th Anniversary Book

Titan, in partnership with Heroic Signatures, announced Conan the Barbarian: The Official Story of the Film, a hardback book about the making of the 1982 movie. It’s due out on November 1st of this year.
